Crime - Keith May 2003

I think you got away with the crime of the day.

I know no one saw and it ain't right.

In your posession is another's life.

And what a life it is, a mix of sad and sappy.

Oh little lady if you let me I could be so happy

Oh little lady don't you seperate me from all the dancing

when I just realized I can live with all this grace

There are reminders of days gone past.

Another day older, another friendship that won't last.

Consoling thoughts won't get me through this unknown fate.

This is the one moment you should always come late, late, late late.....

Paint a pretty picture of us sitting by the river where it's always sunny

Should I fight or make a fuss?  I can't contain my joy I must, find my happy

Empty boat is waiting for us as we leave I hear the chorus "Love is lasting"

All I ever leave behind was never ever really mine.  It is everlasting love.

(I breathe hope)

Keith May-Guitar, Bass, Piano, Vocals

Recorded at Fly Monkey Fly Studios

This song is about being taken from the physical world to the afterlife.  The song's protagonist is "taken" and feels anger, regret, acceptance, and finally hope.

I play this song solo and I'm not sure if I'll ever get tired of it.  The chord changes are quite fun and going into the chorus always feels good. Recorded shortly after I released "Posthumous Release", "Crime" may be the oldest song on the disk. The recording came together quickly and includes some of my favorite fretless bass work on the CD.  The guitar solo always makes me smile too.
